Coach Eyewear
Eyewear / Eyewear By Brands / CoachCoach started as a small, leather goods company in Manhattan in 1941. Miles and Lillian Cahn joined the company in 1946, and both made important contributions to the evolution of the Coach brand: Miles discovered a complex process to make leather more soft and durable, and Lillian urged him to design women’s handbags to be more affordable. But it was the arrival of well-known fashion designer Bonnie Cashin that truly revolutionized the Coach brand. Instead of simply designing handbags, Cashin also integrated innovative features such as side pockets and coin purses. She experimented with color and hardware, including the brand’s trademark silver toggle. Cashin made another important contribution to Coach: she encouraged the company to think outside the bag. As a result, Coach Eyewear was born. With both sunglasses and optical frames in its eyewear collection, Coach provides the same quality in its eyewear as it does in its handbags.
