Italian designer Roberto Cavalli is well-known for his exotic animal prints and patterns. This makes sense when you learn that he got his start in textile print. The innovative designer is never content simply to design clothes using whatever fabrics are available. He wants to create his looks from the ground up, starting with the textiles. And he is extremely effective at getting the effect that he wants when he designs a textile.
Cavalli’s designs are known for having a wild, exuberant feel to them. They often feature animal prints, bright florals or other unexpected juxtapositions of texture, color, and style. His eyewear, by contrast, is far sleeker and more understated. But, as with his wild prints, his understated eyewear is extremely effective. Instead of catching your eye with bold prints in his eyewear, he does it with a bold style contrasted with an understated color. Sometimes, less is more.
