Philippe Starck is undoubtedly one of the most celebrated designers of our day. The French product designer is the most famous adherent of New Design, and he has designed an incredible range of products, from mass-produced goods like chairs and even toothbrushes to projects as complicated as motorcycles and even houses. Starck has an intuitive feel for design that he combines with an intimate knowledge of engineering in order to create designs that are both pleasing to the eye and practical as well. The designer produces Starck Eyes in collaboration with famed eyewear designer Alain Mikli. The line of prescription eyewear and sunglasses boasts a design inspired by the human body. The philosophy behind the design is that, by designing a product inspired by the human body itself, the product is particularly well-suited for improving its wearer’s well-being.
